Tamaqua Water Authority installing new meters in Hometown

Employees from the Tamaqua Area Water Authority will be installing new water meters at all residential customers in the Hometown area of Rush Township.

The Tamaqua Borough will host a public hearing at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, June 20 in Borough Council Chambers to discuss the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG).

Annual CRIZ report due by June 15, 2017

Businesses located in the Tamaqua Community Revitalization and Improvement Zone, or “CRIZ” must file the required state tax report on or before June 15, 2017.

Hydrant Flushing begins May 2 in Tamaqua

The Tamaqua Area Water Authority will begin flushing fire hydrants May 2 at 7 AM and beginning in the Dutch Hill section of town. Residents will receive a day's notice before flushing. Water may be discolored, but will be safe to drink.

Now seeking PT lifeguards and clerks

The Tamaqua Borough is now accepting applications for part-time lifeguards and clerks at the Howard D. Buehler Memorial Pool ("The Bungalow") for its 2017 season, which runs May through August.

Tamaqua pool passes now being accepted

The Tamaqua Borough has announced season pool pass fees and application guidelines. Applications are available in April and opening day will be Friday, June 2 at 11:30.

Revised garbage and recycling pickup

3/15/2017--Following Winter Storm Stella, North Ward, East End, and borough-wide recycling has been cancelled this week. Dutch Hill is tentative for Friday, March 17.

PPL donates and installs osprey platform at Owl Creek

Tamaqua Borough creates safe nesting habitat for osprey with the addition of an osprey platform at its Owl Creek Recreation Area. The platform was erected by PPL volunteer workers in conjunction with the Pa Game Commission on February 14.
